Tracking down the mysteries of space with artificial intelligence

Café & Kosmos on 22 Oktober 2024

Neutrinos are like mysterious travelers carrying valuable information about the universe. They deposit their cosmic messages during their rare collisions with the ice of the IceCube neutrino detector. However, sophisticated methods are needed to track down and decipher these messages from space in the huge amounts of data. Artificial intelligence plays a central role here.

At this Café & Kosmos evening, Dr. Philipp Eller from the Technical University of Munich will explain how artificial intelligence in physics is helping to explore the secrets of the universe and make discoveries that would otherwise remain hidden.
